Get the Look : Alice Eve at Star Trek DVD Launch

Fiona StilesComment

Last spring I had the amazing opportunity to tour the world doing the Star Trek: Into Darkness press tour with British actress Alice Eve.  We went to Moscow, Berlin, London, Mexico City, San Francisco and Seattle, glamming up the red carpet and blowing trekkies minds for 3 weeks.  This past week, with the DVD launch of the movie, we did our last red carpet to promote the film.  You really bond with people when you work so intensely together for extended periods of time, and I'll really miss seeing Alice so much.

Alice really likes to play with makeup.  For this last red carpet look she wanted to do something bold.  I was pulling out a bunch of lip colors and she saw a purple lipstick on the table and said, "What about that one?"  Normally I would save a lip color like this for a magazine shoot, where there is a story and an environment to play with.  But when Alice said let's try it, I was really excited.  Usually people want to play it pretty safe on the red carpet, so it was nice to do something that was bold.  That said, the rest of the makeup is really soft and pretty...it's not like we went crazy or anything.  Plus Alice is so classically beautiful, that it works.  And it almost has a modern retro feeling with the hair.

We had actually had a different dress picked out when we started and the hair was going to be different, but things happen when you get ready and the other dress didn't work, so we had to make some last minute adjustments and it all fell together beautifully.
